Head Mentor
Our Head Mentor is Mrs. Andrea Hudson. Mrs. Hudson is a STEM teacher at Adair High School and has been head mentor since the ANT began in 2008
The ANT has earned awards over the years including the Spirit Award at the OKC Regional for 2017 FIRST Steamworks as well as the Judges Award at the Dallas Regional and the Spirit Award at the OKC Regional for 2018 FIRST Power UP
We are a group that functions out of Adair Public Schools with all team members being students.
FIRST Team 3179 was founded in October of 2009 by a group of students concerned about the lack of technology based activities within their school. They went to their Algebra teacher and asked if she would mentor them. They began as The Warriorbots but later changed their name to The Adair Nerd Team (A.N.T.). They began with a team total of eleven and worked out of the Agriculture Education Building.
Today, The ANT consists of 9 student members and 6 mentors. The team consists of Business, Safety, Build, Programming, Electrical, and Promotional Teams. Each section of the team has different roles and responsibilities to benefit the team while teaching different lessons.
This year the team will travel to Tulsa,Ok, and Shawnee, Ok.
